In the image appears an old woman with her head covered talking to a man. On the left and with her back towards the two characters appears a woman. The image was published in the foreign humor section of the magazine, so the clothing of the characters does not seem to be Spanish from that time. It is understood from the text below the image that the old woman is negotiating the young woman's dowry with the man:

"- Cinquanta mil pessetes de dot.
- Si, però és molt lletja.
- Me sembla que amb cinquanta mil pessetes de dot hi ha dret a ser lletja."

("- Fifty thousand pesetas of dowry.
-Yes, but she is very ugly.
