Original title: "L'Enfant prodigue chez les courtisanes" ("The prodigal son among the courtesans").

This painting represents the biblical story of the prodigal son in the house of the prostitutes. This story is represented as a banquet scene with young women playing musical instruments. Note the old woman in the centre of the painting that acts as a procuress.
