The image shows a young woman sitting on a chair and a young man sitting in front of her and holding her hand. Next to the young woman appears an old woman with her head covered and with her hand on the young woman's shoulder. By the title of the painting it is understood that the old woman acts as a procuress for the young woman and the young man is her client.
