This drawing represents the Russian folk legend of Vasilissa, a young woman, and a witch. The original story does not contain any Celestinesque references. However, Vania Zouravliov's work introduces elements of the visual tradition of La Celestina. Through this La Celestina visual references, Zouravliov mixes two different traditions in one work.

Vania Zouravliov, Russian artist, has been exhibiting his works from a very young age. Among his artistic influences are: the bible, Dante's Divine Comedy, and early Disney drawings.
